Cupping
Cupping is a therapeutic technique that is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to treat a variety of health conditions. The practice involves placing cups, typically made of glass or plastic, on the skin and creating a vacuum by either heating the cup or using a pump. This suction effect creates a negative pressure that draws the skin and underlying tissues up into the cup.
Cupping is believed to help promote the flow of Qi (life energy) in the body, which can become blocked or stagnant due to injury, illness, or stress. By creating suction on the skin, cupping can help to release tension, reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and improve blood flow to the affected area.
